IRS Announces Revised 2026 Standard Mileage Rates

In IRS Announcement 2026-11, the Internal Revenue Service has modified Notice 2026-10 by revising the optional standard mileage rates for 2026. This modification results from the increases in the price of fuel. Beginning July 1, 2026, the following standard mileage rates are in effect:

  • Business mileage from July 1 through December 31, 2026, is increased to 76 cents per mile, an increase of 3.5 cents from the 72.5 cents per mile that was in effect for business mileage from January 1 through June 30, 2026.
  • Medical and moving mileage from July 1 through December 31, 2026, is increased to 23.5 cents per mile, an increase of 3 cents from the 20.5 cents per mile that was in effect for medical and moving mileage from January 1 through June 30, 2026.
  • The standard mileage rate for charitable purposes remains unchanged at 14 cents per mile.

All other provisions of Notice 2026-10 remain in effect.
