For over 30 years, Rich has worked in business consulting and tax compliance, bringing together management skills and financial expertise in the Andover and surrounding communities. He opened his own accounting firm in 1982 and built a client base with hundreds of corporate and personal tax clients by the year 2005. Meet the Management
"Coming from a line of self-employed businessmen (my great-grandfather was a farmer, my grandfather was an automobile salesman and realtor, and my father was an independent insurance agent), it seemed natural that I would open my own business. After years of working for small local accounting firms and several stints as a controller in industry, I started my own firm in 1982.
With little financial backing and a lot of hard work, I was able to succeed in forging a partnership with my clients and the Andover community. The business and professional contacts I made in my charitable involvement assisted me in a pattern of growth. I began to realize I needed a depth of experience to continue that growth and merged with Snodgrass in January 2005.
Being a friend of my mom-and-pop business-owners is a real satisfaction for me. I walk by their establishments and remember that the loan package I helped them arrange assisted them in owning their own business. The success of their new product line was a result of countless meetings between us, and the projections we created were used as a benchmark for their planning. That gives them time to concentrate on what they do best, and we take care of their payroll processing and accounting needs.
I couldn’t ask for a better profession. My dad only wanted me to enjoy going to work each day, and, thanks to my clients, I do!"
